For all the PC players out there, we have a few tips and tweaks that should help you get the most out of your PC performance while we await a patch that Treyarch is in the process of developing and pushing out.

The following tip was submitted to us by a member of the staff over at Curse.

Here are a few tweaks that will help you a lot:

Install latest directx version (this helped the most) – you can grab that here.Install new graphics card drivers (ATI and Nvidia)Make sure to allow Black Ops to use multi cores: go to your steam folder, which was Local DisK\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty black ops\players for me. This may vary for you, however. Search for “seta r_multithreaded_device 0? and change it to “seta r_multithreaded_device 1?. Do this for singleplayer and multiplayer.
We hope that this helps increase your PC performance while we wait for Treyarch to get that sorted out for us. We know they are working hard on that for us, but we’d like to give you the best game you can have while we wait.

The reports are already flying in and, according to VGChartz, Download the COD 7 Black Ops hacks appears to have become the fastest selling video game of all time and the best selling entertainment launch of all time.

Black Ops – Biggest entertainment launch ever?

The previous record holder was, of course, Black ops cheats which sold at a record-breaking volume. VGChartz is estimating that Black Ops sold over 7 million copies yesterday, putting it at a launch about 10% larger than Modern Warfare 2.

VGChartz aimbot is basing their claims off of sales reports and unique users connecting to Xbox Live, Steam, PlayStation Network and Nintendo WiFi Connection. Their numbers break down thus:

The staff here at CoD Black Ops News is pretty much spread throughout the globe, we have a writer in the United Kingdom, a moderator in Turkey and one in Australia and both of our site administrators, myself including, are located in the USA. We all got Black Ops at different times, of course, and apparently I’m in the last time zone to get the game, Pacific Standard Time.

Still, I just returned from my local electronics store with my Hardened Edition of Black Ops and I thought it would be fun to share a few images of the unboxing and the midnight release, for those of you who aren’t able to get the game yet. Hey everybody! Today, the guys at Official Magazine Magazine UK have uploaded a brand new gameplay video of a Black Ops Wager Match. The game in question is a ‘Sharpshooter’ match on the map ‘Radiation’. Whilst the player in the video does not perform too well, it certainly provides us with another insight into how the Sharpshooter Wager Match works, and how difficult it can be to do well with so few people on the map. Treyarch and Activision recently announced that Sean Murray, the composer who provided much of the soundtrack to World at War, has returned to compose the soundtrack for Black Ops. An excerpt from the press release can be found below.

“SANTA MONICA, Calif., Nov. 4, 2010 /PRNewswire/ – Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) revealed today that the soundtrack to the most anticipated game of the year, Treyarch’s Call of Duty®: Black Ops cheats, will also be available for download starting November 9th.  Featuring the music of renowned film composer, Sean Murray, the digital-only soundtrack includes 30 tracks available through iTunes and other major digital media retailers.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops soundtrack hacks , part of a digital distribution agreement between Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) and Fontana, the award-winning independent sales, marketing and distribution division of Universal Music Group, will be available for purchase online for a retail price of $11.99 per entire soundtrack or $.99 per track.

Sean Murray, one of the entertainment industry’s most esteemed musical talents, reunites with Treyarch for the Call of Duty 7 hacks soundtrack, an encore to his Call of Duty®: World at War composition.”

Players may remember portions of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Dies Irae featured in World at War, towards the end in the Red Army portion of the campaign. We know that Activision has licensing to use some Cold War era music, so it won’t be strictly a composed score.

Enter the Valkyrie Rockets.

The Valkyrie Rockets killstreak is accessible after call of duty 7 cheats kills. Activate it to call in a Care Package drop with a launcher and two rockets. Equip the launcher and move to an open position. Now things get interesting.

After launching a rocket, you retain control over its trajectory. It travels at high speeds, but it’s got a lot of mobility. Swerve around obstacles and over rooftops. Enemies are highlighted for easy kills. If you need to cover ground quickly, the rocket even has a boost function, plus a manual detonation trigger for extra power and control.

The Valkyrie Rockets killstreak is particularly effective when defending objectives from a distance. Blasting an enemy off a Domination point or a flag, or quickly clearing enemy headquarters is vastly more satisfying with the Valkyrie Rockets. Use their mobility to surprise enemies and prevent your targets from retaliating.

How will you use the Valkyrie Rockets? Will you save them to defend and assault objectives, wait for groups of enemies to open themselves up to fire, or simply let loose into the open skies, guiding the rocket across the map and into the enemy lines?

On Monday 8th November Activision will be hosting a UK Call of Duty: Black Ops Launch Event at the Battersea Power Station in London. Like last year’s Modern Warfare 2 UK launch event, celebrities and sports stars alike will be in attendance to usher in the launch of what is expected to be 2010′s biggest game.

The night will include interviews with the stars, exclusive features, a multiplayer tournament, a EU multiplayer tournament in which top players from around Europe battle it out, a celebrity tournament, a Prestige Edition unboxing, live footage from GAME’s flagship store in Oxford Street, and more.

Can’t make it to the London Black Ops Launch? No problem. You can watch the event live online from 18:30 GMT from a number of sources.

Not good news, I’m afraid. They have hacked and modded cod 7 Black Ops cheats already. Days before the game is officially available,  videos have started appearing that show a number of mods running in Black Ops.

Even though Treyarch have said that modding will not be possible in cheats for Black Ops, both Zombie Mode and private matches (inevitably public games, too) have already been modded to allow unlimited ammo, super speed and super jump on the Xbox 360 version of the game! Seems like it wasn’t to hard for these guys to accomplish, either.

Let’s hope Treyarch can get on top of this somehow. But chances are that these guys will always find a way around whatever precautions the Devs take, unfortunately. Mods ruined cod7 Modern Warfare 2 hacks multiplayer for me at one point, lets hope the same doesn’t happen with Black Ops and we don’t start seeing this crap in every other public match.

Inevitably, as we get closer to launch date people are getting their hands on retail copies of Black Ops cheats, and details are leaking. We won’t spoil the story (we have seen the ending) but we will tell you this… black ops Zombie fans are going to love this one.

One of the new Zombie Maps in Black Ops – unlocked once you complete the campaign – has you fighting off hordes of Zombies in a rather suprising setting… The Pentagon! Not only that, you play as John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Fidel Castro and Robert McNamara.

We have had a good look at some gameplay from this Zombie map and we can assure you that it looks hella fun. We are not going to post or link to any of the videos, the screenshots will have to do… for now.

Videos will start popping up all over the place in the next few days, just like last year with Modern Warfare 2. So if you want to keep the game unspoilt you should stay away from the usual sources.
